The Lorbrand Standard

Welded construction.
Calibrated bearing seats.

Thick pressed-steel housings welded to high-precision, conveyor-grade steel tube give Lorbrand steel rollers their strength. Proprietary manufacturing techniques and purpose-built equipment keep weld deformation to a minimum.

In the final manufacturing step, an innovative calibration of the bearing housing seats ensures a consistently true bearing seat and a long bearing life.

Key Design Features

Nothing moves, yields or creeps.

Five design features that determine bearing and roller life.

01

Precision bearing seats, constant tolerances

Bearing seats are calibrated in the final manufacturing step and hold constant tolerances throughout decades of service.

02

Welded housing-to-shell joint

The welded joint holds each housing in the shell, preventing the housing-to-shell failures that damage belt and frame.

03

Proven 4-stage sealing system

Centrifugal seal, labyrinth seal, storage seal and bearing seal work in series to keep contamination out and grease in, for maximum roller life.

04

Low out-of-balance value

Accurate manufacture and low tube TIR keep the out-of-balance value low, for smooth running at belt speed.

05

Concentrically machined & ground spindles

Axle spindles are CNC-machined and ground concentric to the shaft, so the bearing runs true on its seat.

Available Options

Condition monitoring and lighter shafts

Factory-fitted options, available on the standard steel roller range.

PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE

Sensor Seals

A self-powered sensor built into the roller's end seal, reading temperature, vibration and speed, so a failing roller is found before it damages the belt. For rollers with 6305 bearings and larger.

LIGHTWEIGHT

Hollow shafts

Hollow shafts cut roller weight for weight-critical and special-frame applications, alongside thicker-wall tube options.

Process Verification

Quality control and testing

Dimensional inspection, weld integrity, coating adhesion and roller running checks, carried out to the inspection and test plan for each order.
