CONVEYOR ROLLERS

Low-friction, precision-manufactured conveyor rollers engineered for long service life, smooth belt support, and demanding bulk materials-handling applications.

The Lorbrand standard

Built around the bearing

A roller can only last as long as its bearings, and a bearing lasts as long as its seat, its shaft and its seals allow. Lorbrand makes its own bearing housings and calibrates every bearing seat, and every shaft is CNC-machined with ground bearing spindles, so each bearing runs true through its full fatigue life.

Four decades of refinement sit behind that standard, carried through every construction in the range, from steel and composite to lined, impact, hybrid and stainless rollers.

Roller types

Steel Rollers

Steel Rollers

Welded steel for heavy-duty and overland systems, with calibrated bearing seats that hold their tolerance for decades and 4-stage labyrinth sealing for low-friction, long-life running.

Composite Rollers

Composite Rollers

Lightweight and low-noise, with a belt-friendly composite tube that performs well in wet carry-back and corrosive environments and eases handling during change-out. Glass-fibre-reinforced nylon housings sit in long, concentrically bored landings in a GF HDPE tube.

HDPE & UHMWPE-Lined Rollers

HDPE & UHMWPE-Lined Rollers

An HDPE or UHMWPE lining machined to low TIR on a Lorbrand steel roller: handles wet or sticky carry-back, runs quieter than bare steel and carries heavier belt loads than a composite roller.

Impact Rollers

Impact Rollers

Full-face rubber discs, vulcanised onto steel rings, absorb falling material under loading zones and stay locked in place under heavy loading.

High-Impact Rollers

High-Impact Rollers

Takes severe impact in loading zones on heavier-section discs in a high-impact rubber compound; solid machined housings and spherical bearings are available for extra-heavy duty.

Rubber-Disc Return Rollers

Rubber-Disc Return Rollers

Sheds carry-back on the return side: spaced rubber discs keep material from building up on the running surface, for a cleaner return run.

Hybrid Rollers

Hybrid Rollers

Steel tube strength with press-fitted glass-fibre-reinforced nylon housings that reduce the risk of belt damage from contact with a housing edge. Suits heavy-duty conveyors and inaccessible areas with infrequent inspection.

Stainless Steel Rollers

Stainless Steel Rollers

Designed for use under magnets and on conveyors handling magnetic materials, where its non-magnetic construction and strength are needed. It also resists corrosion in wet, coastal, chemical and washdown environments.

Design priority

Long life, balanced running, low friction

Every part of a Lorbrand roller is designed so the bearings reach their full fatigue life before any other component fails.

Self-cleaning seals that do not clog, bearing housings that resist fatigue and hold their tolerance over time, and dimensionally accurate shells and shafts all serve that life, and keep the roller balanced and free-running at belt speed.

Manufacture, quality & testing

Accurate assembly, measured and run-tested

High-accuracy assembly machines and controlled manufacturing and quality processes hold every roller to tight tolerances.

Assembly quality decides running friction, belt tracking, noise, vibration and bearing service life.

Micrometer measurement of a roller shaft
Dimensional idler inspection

Dimensions and TIR

Standard dimensional measurements, plus bearing seat tolerance and concentricity (TIR) measurements.

Roller on a test rig

Dynamic balance

Dynamic balance checks on the finished roller, with balance rectification where required.

Roller friction test rig

Running test

Standard roller testing logs start-up torque, TIR, running torque and ambient temperature.

Rollers fitted with Sensor Seals

Sensor Seal running test

Adds bearing temperatures, vibration level, the RPM/torque graph and wireless transmission performance, all recorded against the roller's and the Sensor Seals' unique serial numbers.
