Lorbrand and Capotex win Best Presentation at Rápidas y Poderosas 7
Our joint presentation with Capotex showed how wireless monitoring of every roller keeps a fully covered conveyor in view.
Lorbrand and Capotex won the Best Presentation award at Rápidas y Poderosas 7, the seventh Conveyor Belt Congress and Fair, organised by Mentoris on 4 and 5 September 2025 in Viña del Mar, Chile.
The Smart Conveyor
Conveyor covers contain dust and noise and shield the belt from wind and weather. They also enclose the idlers, which takes them out of reach of the walk-by inspections maintenance crews use to catch a failing roller.
Sensor Seal restores that view. Each sensor replaces a roller's end seal, powers itself from the roller's rotation, and reports bearing temperature, vibration and speed, with an estimate of remaining roller life. With every roller reporting wirelessly, a conveyor can stay covered along its full length and still be monitored roller by roller.
Capotex showed three ways to bring alerts out from under the covers: an indicator panel on the cover, an alarm beacon on a post, or a wireless link to a phone or the plant system.
Together the two cut dust and noise around the conveyor, reduce unplanned stoppages and the exposure of maintenance crews, lower operating cost, and give planners the data to schedule roller changes.
Congratulations to Javier Vente of Lorbrand and Jorge Saura of Capotex, who delivered the presentation.
