Commissioned: September 2002
Notable Features:
- High capacity Tube Conveyor
- Reversible conveyor for cleaning
- For coke and sulfur handling
- Most modern system with automatic speed control, user friendly idler panels and automatic belt overlap position monitoring and training system
- Largest tube diameter supplied worldwide for coke handling
System Description:
Coke is produced at the SINCOR Refinery, commissioned in 2001. Conventional conveyors are used to supply coke from the coke pit to the storage pile (1.0 Mill.T) and from the storage pile to a transfer point at the shore.
The Tube Conveyor takes coke at this transfer point and conveys it offshore, parallel to a jetty, to the ship loader. The Tube Conveyor, with two horizontal and two vertical curves, is a very important link in this conveying chain. It is the only means to convey coke over the water to the ship loader. This Tube Conveyor follows the most modern design standards and employs state-of-the-art components and control technology never used before on a Tube/Pipe Conveyor. The user friendly system is efficient, economical to operate and easy to maintain.
Additional belt enclosures and drip pans underneath the conveyor make sure that no coke or sulfur contaminates the water. All components are designed to withstand the harsh marine operating environment.
